Earlier this week I was invited to be the guest speaker at Binghamton Sertoma's lunch meeting at the Binghamton Club on Front Street in Binghamton.  I always enjoy getting the opportunity of telling people more about our radio industry, News Radio 1290 WNBF and my years in the broadcast business.   It was great to see a number of friends and make new friends as well, many of whom listen to WNBF.

Sertoma Clubs are especially dear to me.  Obviously, hearing is vital to be able to have people listen to us on the radio and in public.  And certainly the ability to speak clearly is another critical component of what we do.  Sertoma stands for "Service to Mankind" and speech and hearing projects encompass much of what Sertoma does.

Binghamton Sertoma has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years with projects like the 37th Million Dollar Antique Show held in the Ice Center at SUNY Broome earlier this month.
