2018 Sunset Runway 5K Set for Greater Binghamton Airport

The 2nd Annual Sunset Runway 5K will be held on Saturday, August 11th at Greater Binghamton Airport.  The race will be held in the evening enabling participants to have the chance to watch the sunset from the airport setting.

Registration will be held in the Hangar II Chamberlin Room beginning at 6:00 P.M. and the race will begin between 7:30 and 8:00 PM depending on weather and the exact sunset time.  In a release compiled by the Broome County Department of Aviation the race is scheduled to provide the optimum view of the sunset for participants while they run or walk on a certified 5K course.

2017 was the initial year for the event and according to organizers over 240 participants took part.  Pre-registration is $20 and closes at midnight on Thursday, August 9th.  Registration on the day of the race is $25.  A portion of the proceeds from the 2018 Sunset Runway 5K will benefit the Twin Tiers Honor Flight.
