The Vestal Golden Bears took a 35-6 lead into the locker room at the half and went on to post a 42-6 win last night over Ithaca in high school football at Dick Hoover Stadium.  Matt Thrasher scored a pair of touchdowns to pace the Golden Bears offensively.

With the loss Ithaca falls to 0-5.  Vestal ups its record to 4-1.  Ithaca struggled to mount any consistent offense against the Golden Bears. Both teams had trouble moving the ball in the second half.  The Little Red moved the football all the way to Vestal's five yard line but after a pair of sacks had to punt from the Golden Bears' 32 yard line.

Vestal will remain home next Friday for a rivalry battle with Union-Endicott.  That game will also be broadcast on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
