Long-time rivals collide again on Saturday afternoon when the Vestal Golden Bears meet the Union-Endicott Tigers at Ty Cobb Stadium at 2:00 P.M.  The cross-river rivalry is one of the fiercest in Section 4 football.

Coming into Saturday's contest both teams need a victory to move up in the Section 4 Division I standings.  Entering this fifth week of the season the Golden Bears are 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the Division.  The Tigers are 1-3 overall and are 0-2 in Division I.

Vestal gave the powerhouse Maine-Endwell Spartans all they could handle last Friday when the Golden Bears fell 36-28 at Dick Hoover Stadium.  U-E dropped a home game in overtime to the Binghamton Patriots by a final score of 36-28.

Vestal's ace runner is Matt Thrasher while the Tiger's are paced by Darrius Billingsley.  Joe Sacco leads the Golden Bears from his quarterback spot while Zach Pilarcek heads up the U-E offense at quarterback.

The Vestal at Union-Endicott showdown will be broadcast on News Radio 1290 WNBF.  Air time is scheduled for 1:50 P.M. and will be available at wnbf.com and also on WNBF's free mobile app.
