Wrong-Way Crash on I-81 Near Kirkwood Sends Several to Hospital

New York State Police are continuing to investigate an early morning two-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 near Kirkwood December 5 that sent several people to the hospital.

Authorities confirm the 2 a.m. incident began with a report of a driver going the wrong way on I-81 Northbound in the area of exit two.

State Police could not comment on the number of people hurt of the extent of injuries but emergency responders had reported that there was a person trapped in one of the vehicles for a time and there were suspected serious injuries.

Emergency responders from Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania were also requested to help with traffic control and rescue efforts.
