Troopers Guard Endwell Fire Crime Scene Around-the-Clock
New York State Police continue to keep a close eye on the charred remains of the Knights Inn on East Main Street in Endwell.
Several troopers have been detailed to the site since Monday morning's fire that resulted in the deaths of six people.
Orange-and-white construction barrels have been placed along the roadway in front of the damaged motel and some yellow crime scene tape remains in place around the property.

Four blue-and-gold state police patrol vehicles were at the site Wednesday morning. Three were in front and the fourth was located near the rear of the motel.
Investigators arrested 24-year-old Tyler J. Russell of Endwell Monday evening, about 14 hours after the fast-moving fire was reported.
Russell has been charged with several felonies in connection with the fire. He faces six counts of second-degree manslaughter and one count of fourth-degree arson.

State police said Russell was being held in Broome County Jail in the town of Dickinson.
Investigators have not said how the fire started or whether they expect to make more arrests.
Broome County property records show Hiland Hospitality LLC acquired the town of Union hotel for $986,000 in 2005.
The owners of the Knights Inn have made no public statements since the fire.
An online relief fund established by the United Way of Broome County has raised nearly $50,000.
According to the United Way website, donations will be used for things like temporary housing, food, clothing and transportation as those displaced by the fire "begin the difficult process of rebuilding their lives."
