A worker at a site near Cold Brook Road in the Town of Scott is dead after being pulled from a body of water on June 2.

Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say members of the work crew attempted to revive the 21-year-old man and contacted 911 at around 9:43 a.m.. Emergency communications officials provided assistance with CPR until Deputies arrived.

A news release from the Sheriff's Office did not specifically identify what body of water was involved.

The workers say the man had been working with them in the area and had gone into the water.

The victim was taken to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities say they have identified the man, who is not from the area, but his name has not been released. The man's family has been notified.

The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant John Gallagher of the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office at 607-758-5562.
