Woman Accused of Frauding FEMA
Papers filed in court indicate a Town of Union woman illegally got Federal Emergency Management Agency money after lying about someone living in a home damaged in the 2011 flood.
According to the U.S. District Court, Krista Kelsey has been indicted on seven counts of fraud and pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutors say Kelsey and her family living on Lawndale Street in Endwell but the actual homeowner was not. FEMA was not issuing money for repairs unless the homeowner was in residence at the time of the disaster.
There has been no word from Federal Prosecutors identifying the actual owner of the home.
