Authorities say Kirk Wayman of Windsor was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony.

According to New York State Police, Wayman was arrested on Tuesday.

Investigators say Wayman was charged after troopers were advised of a theft of items from a Windsor home last January. A rifle and a shotgun were among the things reported stolen from the residence.

Police concluded Wayman had been in possession of the two firearms which had been taken in the incident.

Wayman was arraigned in Windsor town court and sent to Broome County Jail without bail.

State police did not say where the guns had been kept after they were stolen or whether they had been recovered. Investigators also did not disclose what else had been taken from the home.
