Wild Card Time for the Mets
It's do or die time for the New York Mets and San Francisco Giants tomorrow (Wednesday) night at 8:00 PM at Citi Field when they meet in the National League Wild Card game. After tomorrow night's game one team moves on and one moves out.
It becomes a football-like atmosphere. The winner has the ominous task of facing the Chicago Cubs in the best-of-five National League Division Series. The Cubs have the best record in baseball at 103-58 and are 57-24 when they play at Wrigley Field.
Binghamton will be well represented with a number of players set to see duty who honed their skills here at the Double-A level. Noah Syndergaard makes the start for New York. He played in Binghamton in 2013 where he compiled a 6-1 record with a 3.00 ERA in 11 games. This season Syndergaard is 14-9 with a 2.60 ERA.
Getting the start for the Giants is Madison Bumgarner. He brings a 15-9 slate into the post-season with a 2.74 ERA. The teams ended the regular campaign with identical records of 87-75.
