Could Anthony Volpe Be Turning A Corner Here With The NY Yankees?
The New York Yankees are still playing some solid baseball without their star player Aaron Judge. Anthony Volpe is really starting to trend in the right direction which is huge for this team moving forward. He is hitting well over .300 these last two weeks and has several multi hit games during this hot stretch. He has changed his stance and the results have shown and his defense is improving each game too. I know I've been hard on the kid and the New York media coverage on him overall but I am very happy to see him playing better. Below is my quick take on this from the Times Union:
It’s taken half the season but Anthony Volpe is finally starting to figure it out. The rookie shortstop of the New York Yankees looks much better at the plate with his average climbing over the Mendoza line, but over .300 in his last 15 games. Too much pressure too early in his career is a big part of the problem for Volpe, but he’s slowly learning how to deal with playing in New York. He has all the tools, Just needs time and less hype from the media and fans.
MJ and I had on Pete Caldera earlier this morning right here on Big Board Sports. I asked Pete about Volpe's recent hot streak and below is what he told me.
Let's see if Volpe and the Yankees can continue playing some good baseball as they continue to climb the AL East standings and are solidified as an AL Wildcard team as of today.
