A Tioga County man is accused of being responsible for a string of a burglary at a home in the Town of Barton March 8 as well as several others in Chemung County.

New York State Police from Endwell spotted a vehicle driven by 30 year old Joseph Sindoni of Waverly shortly before 3 p-m on Monday, April 7 that was believed to have been involved with a pursuit led by the Waverly Police earlier in the day.

A Trooper attempted to stop Sindoni’s vehicle on  South Nanticoke Road in Endicott but he fled, stopping on River Terrace and running away toward the river.

A search of the surrounding woods by State Police, Broome County Sheriff’s officers and Endicott Police found Sindoni trying to hide. He was arrested without further incident and charged with burglary.

Authorities say when taken into custody, they found Sindoni in possession of a number of items believed to have come from several burglaries.

State Police and other agencies are trying to find the owners of the stolen items.

Anyone with information is asked to call Senior Investigator Michael Franz at (607) 745-7519.

Sindoni was sent to the Tioga County Jail without bail.
