Waterman’s Distillery in Apalachin Moving Operations to Florida
The owners of a Tioga County craft distillery are saying farewell to New York state as they prepare to relocate the operation.
Waterman's Distillery on Route 434 in Apalachin opened its doors in a renovated barn in April 2018.
In a social media post, Michelle Alig wrote that she and her husband Joe are relocating to Fort Myers, Florida.
She said while there is "sadness in leaving behind what we worked so hard for," the couple expects their "future will be bright in the sunshine state."
A second post indicated Waterman's Distillery plans to hold its final bottle sales event on August 21.
Alig encouraged the customers of the distillery to support the new owners of Waterman's Cafe and Tasting Barn. That business is expected to start operations at the Apalachin site in mid-September.
The Aligs could to be reached for comment Monday to elaborate on their plans.
