UPDATE: Water Main Break in Johnson City

Broome County Emergency Services report a big water main break in the Village of Johnson City early January 21.

8:00 a.m. UPDATE:

Village water officials say the break has been isolated and crews are addressing the issue.  At this point, "everybody has water" and there has been no advisories issued regarding water usage or treatment.

The Water Department was called the scene of the break at Lester Avenue and Helen Drive near Saint James Church at around 3:30 a.m.

Helen Drive was closed in the area of the break between Avenue A and Lester Avenue but traffic on Lester Avenue itself as not impacted.
