Water Line Work Near Vestal Student Apartments

Construction crews have been busy during the overnight hours installing new water lines near a recently-opened addition to a Vestal student apartment complex.

The project is being done at University Plaza just west of the U Club Binghamton student housing buildings.

Work at the site is occurring between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. to avoid interfering with daytime activities at the plaza.

The construction area is located near the Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurant.

A worker said the installation of the new water lines should be completed soon.

Several new buildings housing hundreds of new student apartments at the Vestal Parkway complex opened a few weeks ago.

The former Vestal Plaza retail center has undergone a major transformation in recent years as most of the businesses once located there have been replaced with student housing.
