Walton Man Charged With Felony DWI With Child in Vehicle
A crash in the Town of Walton is resulting in felony charges against a Delaware County man.
Sheriff’s officials say 31-year-old James Young II of Walton is charged with driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle.
Deputies responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash on October 17 on Prospect Avenue in Walton and found Young’s vehicle had been traveling north when it left the road and hit a section of guidewire. Authorities say they determined the Walton man was driving with his ability impaired by alcohol and drugs.
Young is charged with failure to maintain lane, speeding, driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired by drugs and felony Aggravated Leandra’s Law Drunk Driving for having a child under the age of 15 in the vehicle.
He was released to wait for his next date in Village of Walton Court.
