Troopers say 69-year-old Elizabeth Rosengrant of Fishs Eddy was driving on Klondike Road in Hancock shortly after 6 p.m. when she lost control for an unknown reason, went off the shoulder of the road and hit a tree.  The vehicle overturned, hit another tree and caught fire.

State Police say when they got on the scene shortly before 6:30, they found the Hancock Fire Department already attempting to put out the flames.

Several other emergency services agencies also responded to the scene and found Rosengrant deceased in the vehicle once the fire was out.

State Police say the case remains under investigation.
