Endicott Man Dead Following Rollover Crash on Route 26
New York State Police are investigating a single vehicle rollover crash that has claimed the life of an Endicott man October 21.
Authorities say they were called to Route 26 in the Town of Maine at around 2:30 Friday afternoon with a report of a vehicle off the road and rolled onto its roof and found the driver trapped inside the car.
Troopers say 65-year-old Mark Truesdale of Endicott had been traveling south on Route 26 when his vehicle left the road, hit a ditch and became airborne.
The vehicle then hit some trees before ending up on its roof.
The Endicott man was transported to Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center in Johnson City where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities say they still have not determined what caused the motorist to drive off the road.
No information is available concerning speed but road conditions were believed to be good at the time and the weather was clear.
The Maine Ambulance Squad had also responded to the scene.
