The Town put out the advisory late in the morning January 17 after a water main at the intersection of Vestal and Bunn Hill Roads ruptured on Thursday night.

Residents in the surrounding neighborhoods and businesses like the Buffet Star, Fugi San and Quality Inn were told not to consume any tap water or use it for making ice without boiling it for at least a minute.

By 8:30 a.m. January 20, officials said all the tests of the affected areas were clear of any bacteria and the boil water advisory was lifted.
