The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team shot 55 percent from the field and made 5 of 13 three-point shots but still could not stop the Vermont Catamounts from getting their eighth conference win of the season Wednesday night, February 17 in Burlington.  The Catamounts outscored Binghamton 41-32 in the second half to post a 78-64 victory.

Binghamton had one of its best shooting nights of the season but so did Vermont.  The Catamounts made 51 percent of their field goals and took ten more shots than Binghamton to earn the win.

Binghamton was led by sophomore Willie Rodriguez who led paced all scorers with 22 points.  The Catamounts countered with four players in double figures including a team-high 16 points from Cam Ward.  Vermont had a big edge in points off the bench as the Catamounts' reserves outscored Binghamton 38-7.

The Bearcats fall to 3-10 in America East action while Vermont moves to 8-5.  Binghamton returns home the host UMass Lowell in a doubleheader on Saturday, February 20  The BU women host the River Hawks at 2:00 p.m. followed by the men's game with UMass Lowell.at 4:30 p.m..  Both will also be aired on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
