The Vermont Catamounts proved too much for the Binghamton Bearcats in men's basketball on Wednesday night at the Events Center. The Catamounts opened up a 43-20 halftime lead and went on to record a 72-53 victory. The Catamounts continued their dominance in the series with their tenth straight win.  Five Vermont players scored in double figures including the Catamounts leading scorer on the season with a 12-point game.  Vermont ups it records to 2-1 in America East while the Bearcats fell to 1-3.

Binghamton was led in scoring by current America East Rookie of the Week Brenton Mills who scored 13 points.  Sam Sessoms who is averaging 18 points per game was held to nine points.

It was a good night for the Catamounts all around as their women's team came from behind in Burlington to top the BU women 65-62.  Next up both Bearcats' teams meet the Maine Black Bears this weekend.  The women host Maine Saturday at 12 noon.  The men head to Bangor where they face the Black Bears on the road on Sunday at 2:00 PM.
