New York State Police released that a 67-year-old man is being held in connection with the stabbing of another man in the Town of Conklin Sunday night, September 30.

Shortly after 7 p.m. Troopers responded to a report of a stabbing on Conklin Road and determined an altercation had taken place, a man was being treated for a puncture wound and a suspect had left the scene in a vehicle.

That vehicle was seen by Binghamton Police on Burr Avenue in the City of Binghamton and stopped by authorities.

Passenger, Douglas Slater was arrested and charged with felony assault.

The victim was taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City where he underwent surgery. His condition was not available.

Slater is being held in the Broome County Jail to await court proceedings.
