UAlbany Ends Bearcats Women’s Season With Playoff Win
The UAlbany Great Danes ended the Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball season with a quarterfinal round 61-56 victory at the SEFCU Arena on Wednesday night. The Bearcats finish the season with a 12-18 record and went into the conference tournament as a fifth seed.
Fourth seed Albany advances to the America East semifinal round and travels to Maine for a 1:00 P.M. game on Sunday.
Binghamton appeared to be on the way to a road playoff victory. After trailing at halftime 31-30 the Bearcats held a 46-41 lead after three quarters and were up 54-47 with 6:43 left in the game. But from that point on Binghamton's shooting went cold. They went 0-10 from the field in the and did not make a basket the rest of the way.
Rebecca Carmody was outstanding in her final game as a Bearcat. She scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for Binghamton. Kai Moon netted 17 points and Binghamton High School graduate Olivia Ramil scored a dozen more for the Bearcats.
