Two Hurt When FedEx Truck and Car Collide Near Kirkwood Park
A FedEx Home Delivery truck wound up on its side after a collision involving a sedan near a Route 17 interchange south of Binghamton.
The crash occurred shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday in the town of Kirkwood.
State troopers, the Five Mile Point Fire Department and two Superior ambulances were sent to the scene at the intersection of the Route 17 extension and Frances Street.
The FedEx truck went off the roadway and down a slight embankment before overturning on the north side of Valley Park.
Two people who were in a Subaru Legacy were taken to a hospital to be evaluated for what appeared to be minor injuries.
The driver of the truck was extricated from the vehicle after a few minutes.
Workers removed a couple of dozen packages from the wrecked truck before it was towed.
