Two Chenango County residents are facing drug charges in Broome County after authorities were alerted to possible drug activity in Otsiningo Park in the Town of Dickinson at 6:12 p.m. March 22.

Broome County Sheriff’s officials say they found two people in a vehicle with drug paraphernalia in plain view and trying to stash items under the driver’s seat.

21 year old Michael Verry of Greene is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance as well as obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.  24 year old Amber Halco of Oxford is charged with drug possession and possession of a hypodermic instrument.

A Sheriff’s Deputy responding to the report said Verry had several packages of heroin, hypodermic needles filled with heroin and several Xanax pills.

The deputy says as he was attempting to take Verry into custody, the 21 year old resisted arrest. No one was injured.

Verry was sent to the Broome County Jail while Halko was released and ordered to appear in Town of Dickinson Court at a later date.
