Members of the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force say they found heroin when they executed a narcotics search warrant at a house on Evelyn Street in Johnson City July 13.

27 year old Muriyd Matthews of Endwell and 23 year old Devon Beaman were arrested in the bust.

Authorities say they recovered about 27 grams of unpackaged powder heroin, three knotted wraps of powder heroin, cutting powder agents, digital scales and packaging materials.

Matthews and Beaman are each charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, felony criminal possession of a controlled substance based on the drug’s weight and two misdemeanor counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia.

The pair was sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
