Broome County Emergency Services officials say the truck was loaded with pallets of sandbags, headed south on the Interstate when the rig hit the median at mile marker 7 at 10:34 p.m.  Troopers were finally able to leave the scene about seven hours later.

The driver wasn’t hurt.

The Department of Environmental Conservation was called in to deal with some 150 gallons of diesel fuel that spilled from the truck.

Firefighters from Kirkwood and Five Mile Point also responded to the scene.
