Six teenagers from western Broome County have been arrested for allegedly trespassing at an abandoned school in the town of Barker.

Authorities say five teens from Vestal and one from Endicott were charged with third-degree criminal trespass.

Thursday's arrests followed a trespassing complaint at the former Charlotte Kenyon Elementary School on Route 79 in Chenango Forks.

All six suspects were ordered to appear in Barker town court Tuesday.

The school was closed more than a decade ago. There have been previous incidents involving unauthorized people entering the vacant building.

In one case, someone set a fire in the old school's auditorium.
