A woman is expected to be ticketed after a sport utility vehicle smashed into a light pole in Vestal.

Authorities say the crash happened on the Vestal Parkway East at Main Street around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Police say the driver was the only occupant of the Chrysler Pacifica that knocked down the pole at the Four Corners intersection.

The woman was not injured in what was believed to be an alcohol-related crash.

Debris covered the eastbound lanes of the Vestal Parkway as a NYSEG crew worked at the scene.

Although the light pole that was struck wound up next to a business parking lot, it appeared no electric lines were brought down as a result of the crash.

It was not known when the damaged pole would be replaced.

Police were on the scene for several hours.
