Add Susquehanna Valley to the list of local school districts informing residents of COVID-19 being confirmed among staff and/or students.

On the SV website, parents are informed that Broome-Tioga BOCES and the district are working with the Health Department after receiving notification of a confirmed case of COVID-19 involving an employee.  Earlier, Vestal and the Chenango Valley school districts announced positive cases.

The Susquehanna Valley announcement says, according to state guidelines, anyone in contact with the confirmed case will be quarantined by the Broome County Health Department for up to 14 days. 

The County Health Department is contacting anyone who may have been exposed at both Broome-Tioga BOCES and the Susquehanna valley School District where the affected person was assigned on a part-time basis. 

The district says the Health Department has not identified any student exposure.

Vestal School District reportedly has had two positive tests while Chenango Valley said there had been a positive case at the Port Dickinson Elementary School.
