Endicott police detectives are trying to locate at least two people following the report of gunshots on a village street.

Authorities say the incident occurred in the 1700 block of Tracy Street around 8:10 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators believe a couple of people exchanged gunfire on Tracy between South Roosevelt and Adams avenues.

Police say it does not appear anyone was injured in the incident.

Those involved in the shooting were gone by the time officers arrived in the neighborhood. Witnesses reported seeing a black-colored sedan that apparently was involved in the incident. The vehicle was spotted leaving the area on South Roosevelt Avenue.

Investigators are asking people who live in the area to check security video from the time around the reported gunfire to determine if they have footage that might help police.

People with information or video related to the investigation may contact Endicott police at (607) 785-3341.

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
