A Binghamton businessman has opened a new shop in a historic downtown building.

NYC Style Deli & Juice Bar recently launched operations at 81 State Street. The business is located in a storefront in the Stephens Square Building, which was constructed in 1888.

Zacaria Jeran received approval for the store from the Binghamton planning commission in November 2024.

Jeran had hoped the business could start operating soon after it received the go-ahead from the city. But he had to endure a series of delays in getting the space renovated.

Jeran told WNBF News "it was a long journey." But he's excited now that the store is in its "soft opening" phase.

People who live and work downtown have been discovering the business over the last few weeks.

The store is on the first floor of a five-story building that was converted into student housing several years ago.

The menu includes breakfast sandwiches, salads, subs, burgers, wings and more. The business is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
