A man faces felony charges following a traffic stop by a state trooper in Cortland County.

Authorities say 36-year-old Raymond Forrest of Hastings faces two counts of criminal possession of stolen property after he was pulled over in the town of Marathon.

According to New York State Police, Forrest was arrested after a trooper saw him make a u-turn on Interstate 81 on Wednesday afternoon.

It turned out the vehicle had been reported stolen in Oswego County. Forrest also was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and someone else's credit cards.

Forrest was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Forrest was arraigned and directed to appear in Marathon town court on January 13.
