The Food Bank of the Southern Tier has announced that nearly 55,000 pounds of food were collected during the 5th annual Fill the Bus Campaign.

The goal of the campaign is to provide a bag of nutritious and easy to prepare food to children who are at risk of hunger over weekends and holidays when they don't have access to school lunch programs.

The Food Bank plans to distribute more than 68,000 packs of food to children across 33 school districts this school year.

The Fill the Bus Campaign took place at Wegmans from September 7th through the 21st.  Wegmans employees were instrumental in helping this year's campaign to be successful.
