The State University of New York, New York Power Authority and Delaware County Electric Cooperative are announcing a project to build a solar generation and energy storage system to provide clean power to SUNY Delhi and the surrounding community.

The Solar Generation and Battery Storage Project is currently in the preliminary stages of planning.

The partners expect the system will consist of 2 MW of ground-mounted, storage-paired solar power on 18 acres owned by SUNY Delhi on Abor Hill Road next to a DCEC Substation.

The project, in addition to moving forward toward Governor Andrew Cuomo’s goals of sustainability and clean energy, is part of the Southern Tier Soaring initiative to revitalize communities and their economies.
