The district is looking at using the 34-acre plot next to Maine Memorial for a solar farm, pending the approval by the school board.

The proposed solar farm could produce more than enough electricity to power the district’s buildings according to the administration.

The plan will be discussed in a public session at a special school board meeting at 6 p.m. October 9 at the Maine Memorial School.
