Snow Blamed for Pickup Truck-Agricultural Vehicle Crash in Preble
Cortland County Sheriff's officials are investigating a crash involving a pickup truck and an agricultural tractor pulling a feed mixing wagon that sent two people to the hospital.
Deputies say 45-year-old Jennifer Haskin was driving a Dodge pickup north on Route 11 in Preble at 9:56 a.m. March 23 when she lost control of the truck, skidding into the south bound lane. The truck hit a south bound tractor and mixing wagon owned by Curry Farms.
Officials say Peter Richards, who was driving the agricultural tractor tried unsuccessfully to avoid the collision. He was uninjured but Haskins and a 20-year-old male passenger were transported to Upstate University Medical Center in Syracuse for treatment for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Unsafe speed and poor road conditions are believed to have contributed to the crash.
