Sidney Man Faces Felony Charges in Johnson City Following Store Thefts
A Sidney man is facing felony charges after being accused of shoplifting from two stores in the Village of Johnson City.
Village Police arrested 32-year-old Matthew Tilley Thanksgiving Day.
Police say they responded to Walmart at 8:45 p.m. for a shoplifting complaint where security personnel say they saw Tilley take items from the store without paying. He had previously been banned from the store.
In addition to felony burglary for the Walmart incident, Tilley is charged with two other felony burglary charges for incidents at Wegmans Supermarket that detectives say happened on November 6 and 11.
Tilley was sent to the Broome County Jail.
