Supporters of the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park will have an opportunity to sample a few beers and help the zoo at the same time.

The annual "Zoo Brew" event is scheduled for Saturday from five to eight p.m. at the zoo on Morgan Road on the city's South Side.

Organizers say pavilions at the zoo will be transformed into a beer garden for one night.

The event will feature some of the products from several northeast breweries.

There'll be live music and a barbecue that will offer food fresh from the grill.

The Zoomobile will be there with staff providing information about some of the zoo's most popular animals.

Some animal art also will be on display, giving visitors a chance to appreciate the seldom-seen talent of zoo residents.
