Johnson City Police say a Village man is accused of attacking a woman he had just met Monday, May 30, choking her, demanding money and stealing her cell phone.

Police say the victim told them she willingly got into 24 year old Mychael Torrance’s car on Baldwin Street at around 5:30 p.m.

Torrance reportedly drove the woman around for a short time before taking her to an abandoned building and robbing her.

Police say he fled in his car but was located by Binghamton Police a short time later based on the description given by the victim.

Torrance is charged with felony robbery and tampering with evidence.

He was sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
