Authorities are looking into the cause of a fire at a Binghamton gas station that destroyed a Tioga County public transportation bus.

The driver of the Ride Tioga bus had just picked up the vehicle from a repair shop when he noticed some noise coming from the engine.

The driver pulled into the Hess Station at Vestal and Pennsylvania Avenues where the bus burst into flames.

The gas station's sprinkler system did not activate and the fire was out in a matter of minutes.

There were no passengers on the bus and no injuries were reported.
