The Cortland County Sheriff’s Department says its dealing with a spate of vehicle break-ins again.

According to the department, Deputies and the New York State Police have been investigating larcenies from vehicles in the Village of Marathon in the overnight hours from July 21 to the 22nd.

Authorities have not said what items were taken and just how many cars were targeted but the warning is being repeated that people should lock vehicles, storage units, doors and windows in homes and never leave anything of value in plain sight.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s office and the New York State Police, meanwhile, are looking for assistance from the public with information about the identification and whereabouts of any suspects who may have been in the area.
