Port Crane Man Faces Charges After Crash

A Port Crane man was arrested after a one-car crash in the Town of Colesville.

Authorities say 54-year-old Clifford Whitman Sr. was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and other traffic violations.

State police say the crash happened Monday afternoon on Route 7 near Tunnel Road. Whitman's vehicle veered off the south shoulder of the roadway. They say an open beer can was found in the vehicle.

Whitman was treated at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City for an arm injury.

The DWI charge was a felony because of a prior conviction within the past decade.

Whitman was ordered to appear in Colesville town court on December 23.
