A driver pulled over for speeding on Interstate 81 in Broome County was sent to jail after police discovered he was in possession of marijuana and two forged driver licenses.

According to state police, 19-year-old Vincenzo Valente of Mastic, Long Island was stopped by a trooper around 1:15 p.m. Sunday.

Investigators say the traffic stop occurred after Valente was observed speeding on I-81 in the Town of Dickinson. Police say he was clocked at 82 mph in a 55 mph zone.

After detecting marijuana inside the vehicle, a search was conducted. Troopers say they found about 12 grams of marijuana and two forged licenses.

Valente was charged with two felony counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. He also was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Police say Valente was arraigned and sent to Broome County Jail without bail. His next court date in the Town of Dickinson was pending.
