Investigators say the treasurer of a Police Benevolent Association is suspected of stealing thousands of dollars from union accounts.
Authorities say 60-year-old Patti Lovelace of Eldred has been charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony.
According to state police, Lovelace was arrested on Sunday. She was employed as a dispatcher of the Village of Liberty Police Department in Sullivan County at the time.
Officials say Lovelace was the treasurer for the Liberty Police Benevolent Association. An investigation by union representatives and by state police determined Lovelace stole about $13,000 over the past two years.
Lovelace was arraigned in Liberty town court. She was released on her own recognizance.
