Town police detectives and state police investigators showed up at the property at 13 Underwood Road around 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials said the suspected meth lab was discovered in an out building a short distance from the residence.

Vestal police were assisted by the New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team and the Department of Environmental Conservation. The Vestal Fire Department and the Vestal Volunteer Emergency Squad also provided assistance.

Emergency crews were at the scene just east of Tracy Creek Road until about 11 p.m. No injuries were reported.

An investigator said charges are expected to be filed in connection with the clandestine operation. Information about possible suspects may be released in a few days.
