Two people were arrested following a physical dispute at a residence in the town of Windsor.

Authorities say 25-year-old Nicholas Whitney and 20-year-old Monica Whitney were involved in a disturbance in a home on Trim Street.

According to New York State Police, troopers arrested the man and woman around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police were sent to the residence after the Broome County 911 Center received a report of a dispute.

Investigators concluded Nicholas Whitney was the primary aggressor in the fight. During the dispute, he allegedly pushed over a dresser that almost struck a child.

Also during the disturbance, Monica Whitney was said to have damaged the man's stereo system when she threw it out the front door of the house.

Nicholas Whitney was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. Monica Whitney was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony.

Both were ordered to appear in Windsor town court on February 14.
