Plans Unveiled to Bring New Life to Old Pizza Hut
A building that had housed a Pizza Hut restaurant in the town of Chenango soon will be home to another eatery.
The operators of the Spiedie and Rib Pit restaurant at 1268 Upper Front Street have announced they plan to move the operation to the vacant Pizza Hut building next door.
The Pizza Hut closed without advance notice last September. Signage and markings identifying the national restaurant chain were suddenly removed without explanation.
At the time, people familiar with the situation said they expected the Spiedie and Rib Pit located next door would move into the abandoned building.
The owners of the popular spiedie restaurant now have confirmed that they will shift operations to the neighboring property.
The business operators in a Facebook post said they expect to be operating from the new site by this summer.
The post indicated the restaurant will have more seating and an outdoor patio, along with "some new items."
