Endicott Police Chief Patrick Garey says a Brackney, Pennsylvania man was piloting a single engine airplane that crashed shortly before 11:30 a.m. June 12 at Tri-Cities Airport in Endicott.

According to a statement from the Police Chief, 77-year-old Russell Darrow was the pilot of the Trella T-21 aircraft that crashed on the Norfolk Southern Railroad property between Industrial Park Boulevard and Airport Road.

Darrow was pronounced dead at the scene. There was no one else in the aircraft.

The cause of the crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.
