The model of the Owego United Methodist Church was developed after the students studied the architectural characteristics of the Main Street structure. The church building was constructed in 1870.

The team of students was guided by technology education teacher Don Shultz. The team members also were assisted by art teacher Jolene Williams.

The 1/24th scale model illustrates the church's Gothic Revival architectural style.

While the finished model is an accurate rendering of the structure, it has one prominent feature that's no longer part of the church. The model has a white steeple, which was produced using a 3D printer.

The church originally had a spire but that's been gone for decades. It was struck by lightning in 1907.

The scale model was presented to the church by the students and teacher at a Sunday morning service.
